About Naomi Bruhn
Naomi is a Melbourne based composer and flute player. She has several film credits for both music scoring and sound design in short films, as well as writing concert music for small ensembles and orchestra. Naomi has a keen interest in blending music, sound and story to create rich musical narratives.
Naomi frequently writes music for the Victorian Flute Ensemble, and was commissioned by the Victorian Flute Guild to write a piece for solo flute accompanied by flute ensemble, which featured Eliza Shephard, for their annual Leslie Barklam Benefit concert in 2023.
Naomi was awarded best score (for her score to Blue Belt and Cupid’s Comet- alongside composer Nicholas Todarello) at the Swinburne University of Technology, class of 2020, Graduate Screening. She has also written and work-shopped pieces for Melbourne based ensemble Syzygy and the Victorian Youth Symphony Orchestra (VYSO).
