On February 18, 1943, Sophie Scholl pushed a stack of one hundred pamphlets off a balcony at the University of Munich—an act of resistance that led to her arrest and execution alongside her brother, Hans. Written by the White Rose, an anti-Nazi student group, the pamphlets called for moral and political awakening during the Second World War. This piece reflects moments from Sophie Scholl’s life and legacy: the release of the pamphlets, her arrest, and the enduring power of the White Rose’s words. Framed by quotations from the fourth pamphlet and from Sophie herself, the work concludes with excerpts from the pamphlets that once scattered across the university floor.
